Gan Kim Yong joins Singapore sovereign wealth fund globalHe will become a director of the Company on October 1, 2024.
He currently serves as Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, and also serves as Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Mr Gunn is involved with the Strategy Group within the Prime Minister’s Office and sits on both the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council and the National Research Foundation Board.
Mr Gan entered politics in 2001 and has served in various government positions, including at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Ministry of Health.
He began his early career as a civil servant in Singapore, where he worked in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Gunn moved into the private sector in 1989, joining Natsteel Corporation, where he later became CEO and president in 2005.
