What to do:
- Please start your claim. Submit a claim onlineorAllstate® Mobile App .
- Please update your information. Use MyClaim to edit your contact information and add payment information for faster transactions.
- Please separate damaged and undamaged personal items. If keeping your damaged personal property is unsafe, take photos or videos for review by your insurance claims team and dispose of the item properly.
- Perform emergency repairs. To prevent additional loss, contact a qualified repair service or contractor for temporary repairs if necessary. Be sure to save your invoice or invoice and submit it to your claims team for consideration as part of your claim. Please take lots of photos before repairing.

Billing process: Depending on your policy, you can typically expect the following steps in the claims process:

- Speak to a member of the catastrophe claims team – A member of our catastrophe claims team will contact you to answer your questions and determine the best way to address your loss.
- Evaluate to estimate damages – The adjuster evaluates the damage, determines any necessary repairs and/or replacements, and creates an estimate of compensable damage.
- Check your quote – The insurance adjuster will discuss damage estimates and settlements based on the insurance policy, terms, and coverage.
- Claim resolution – The adjuster will close your claim by sending you the appropriate documentation and/or applicable payments and answering your questions.
Contractor fraud: Contractor fraud is common after a disaster. While most home repair companies are honest and do quality work, some are not. To ensure you choose an honest and reputable contractor, be wary of contractors who exhibit any of the following signs:
- Claims to be approved by FEMA or other agencies.
- They come from out of state, especially after a major disaster.
- Advance payment is required to schedule work.
- provide any unsolicited services;
- Pressure to sign electronic documents immediately.
