Advance figures for the week ending October 12 are: Initial seasonally adjusted claims were 241,000a decrease of 19,000 cases from the previous week’s revised figure. The previous week’s level was revised upward by 2,000, from 258,000 to 260,000. The four-week moving average was 236,250, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week’s revised average. Last week’s average was revised upward by 500 people, from 231,000 to 231,500.
