This app simplifies digital payments for foreign tourists visiting Cambodia.
Tourists can download the app upon arrival and seamlessly top up their Bakong account using a Mastercard issued in their home country.
This will allow you to scan the KHQR code, Payments can be made at over 3.3 million merchants across Cambodiathis is a huge advantage in a country where there are only 60,000 POS machines that accept card payments.
The launch event, led by NBC Governor Dr. Chia Serei, was attended by representatives from government agencies, financial institutions and other industry stakeholders.
The Bakong Tourists app will also benefit local businesses by improving the efficiency and security of digital transactions.
The app can be downloaded from: Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
