Prudential has officially launched its Global AI Lab in Singapore, with the aim of integrating artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI and machine learning across its business.
Launched in partnership with Google Cloud, the lab will focus on developing AI solutions to improve customer experience, increase business efficiency, and enhance advisory capabilities.
Prioritize solutions in the health and wealth space, including predictive health risk analytics and highly personalized financial planning.
The AI Lab plays a critical role in improving access to quality care and driving operational excellence within Prudential.
For example, AI-powered tools could identify individuals at high risk of developing certain health conditions, allowing for early intervention and preventive care.
prudential Since the lab’s soft launch in August, it has already received over 100 AI use case submissions from employees in 24 markets across Asia and Africa.
The lab will be staffed by a dedicated team of AI engineers and data scientists based in Singapore.
To accelerate AI innovation, the lab collaborates with a variety of ecosystem partners, including government agencies, research institutions, and technology companies.
We also plan to partner with local universities and polytechnics to provide students with hands-on experience and internships to develop the next generation of AI professionals.
Specifically, the institute has agreements with institutions such as the National University of Singapore’s Asian Digital Finance Institute, the Singapore Management University’s School of Computing and Information Systems, the Republic Institute of Technology, and the Singapore Institute of Technology.
Prudential chose Singapore as the home for its Global AI Lab because of Singapore’s strong support for AI innovation, robust infrastructure, and access to talent.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, the Economic Development Board of Singapore and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
The launch event was moderated by Singapore’s Minister of Digital Development and Information, Josephine Teo, and Prudential CEO Anil Wadhwani.
