In today’s ‘Calculated Risk Real Estate’ newsletter: Number of housing starts: In 2023, the average period from start to completion will reach a record high

In 2023, a single-family home took a record 8.6 months from start to finish, up from 8.3 months in 2022. For buildings with two or more units, in 2023 it was recorded that in buildings with two or more units it took 17.1 months. No change from 17.1 months in 2022.
…Delays after the housing bubble were due to many projects being put on hold for several years. Recent delays are due to pandemic-related supply constraints.
