Preliminary statistics for the week ending May 11th are: Initial seasonally adjusted claims were 222,000, a decrease of 10,000 cases from the previous week’s revised value. Last week’s level was revised upward by 1,000 cases, from 231,000 to 232,000. The four-week moving average was 217,750, an increase of 2,500 from the previous week’s revised average. Last week’s average was revised upward by 250 people, from 215,000 to 215,250.
