New edition of the exhibition to take place at Fiera Milano Rho from 6 to 9 May 2025
From Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th May 2025, Fiera Milano Rho will host the 23rd edition of LAMIERA, the international exhibition dedicated to the industry of sheet metal forming and cutting machine tools and innovative technologies related to this sector.
For many years, the fair has been one of the leading international events focused on the field of sheet metal forming and cutting, a sector in which Italy stands out, occupying second place in the world rankings of production and exports and third place in the world ranking of consumption.
Organized by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian Association of Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots and Automation Systems, and organized by CEU-CENTRO ESPOSIZIONI UCIMU, LAMIERA is the only trade fair in Italy dedicated to the metal forming sector: an increasing number of Italian and foreign companies are choosing the event to present previews of their projects and innovative solutions.
Machines, plants, processing equipment for sheet metal, tubes, profiles, wire, structural metalworking, presses, dies, mouldings, surface treatments and finishing, parts, components, accessories, tools, fastener materials, technology and industrial subcontracting will be at the heart of the exhibition, which will showcase the best of the latest technology, or “the bright side of metal forming”, as the slogan goes. As a side note, the event will have a special focus on several technical themes related to machine tools.
FABBRICA FUTURA will focus on software and technologies for connectivity, data management, automation, as well as digital systems and robotics applied to sheet metal processing. SALDATECH will provide an overview of the wide and diverse world of welding, one of the most important sheet metal joining technologies. FASTENER INDUSTRY will present its proposals for screws, bolts, fastening and clamping systems. WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS will host machines, systems, accessories and consumables focused on pre- and post-production treatment of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, ensuring a complete picture of this segment that is continuously developing. METROLOGY & TESTING will focus on test, measurement and quality control systems and machines essential for manufacturing in this field. BLECH ITALY SERVICE will concern technical subcontracting and services for the industries of the sector, the six technical themes of the exhibition.
In addition, starting from this year, LAMIERA will propose a Revamping & Retrofitting area focusing on machines and plants that have been properly updated and equipped with new features to meet market needs complementing the “new machines”.
“Of all the Italian exhibitions, LAMIERA is the only event dedicated to machines for cutting, processing and forming sheet metal. The high quality of the exhibits and the attention given to new cutting-edge technologies in the industry through innovative exhibition themes make the fair gain year after year in importance and appeal, both at home and abroad,” says Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager of UCIMU.
“The strong offer, recognised by users and manufacturers from all over the world, is an absolute attraction for international operators who find at LAMIERA the best opportunity to observe the biggest companies in the sector up close. In fact, previous data from the event shows that the presence of all Italian manufacturers at the fair, from standard to ultra-customised technology, is a very strong driver for the participation of foreign manufacturers, both from countries with a strong tradition in the sector and those that have only recently begun to take part from outside the EU. Their participation in LAMIERA is decisively increasing year by year.”
“The application period has been open for a few days and the Secretariat has already received a large number of applications to participate. Furthermore, the expected growth in international and national market trends throughout the three-year period from 2025 to 2027, as well as the availability of Transition 5.0 and 4.0 incentives throughout 2025, will undoubtedly be advantageous for all exhibitors who decide to participate in LAMIERA, the world’s third largest consumer market and its first in Europe, added Alfredo Mariotti.
The value of the exhibition is further enhanced by the accompanying initiatives and projects that enrich the visitor experience and generate interest: the fair’s events area, LAMIALAMIERA, will present a rich conference program on topics relevant to the industry, as well as propose all initiatives related to the visit and education of international traders.
