DOL (Department of Labor) report:
The preliminary figures for the week ending June 1 are: Seasonally adjusted new claims were 229,000.The number of cases increased by 8,000 from the previous week’s revised figure. The previous week’s figure was revised upward by 2,000 from 219,000 to 221,000. The four-week moving average was 222,250, down 750 from the previous week’s revised figure. The previous week’s average was revised upward by 500 from 222,500 to 223,000.
