Appian, a software company that automates business processes, and Swiss Re have expanded their collaboration to streamline the life insurance underwriting process and improve underwriter productivity.
of Connected Underwriting Life Workbench Following a successful launch in North America last year, Appian’s platform will now be available in select countries across Asia Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The Appian platform is integrated with Swiss Re’s automated underwriting solution, Magnumaims to simplify the traditionally cumbersome underwriting system.
Traditional systems often require underwriters to navigate multiple platforms for risk analysis, case management and information updates.
Workbench addresses this issue by providing a single login system, allowing underwriters to manage their tasks more efficiently.
Workbench automates workload assignment and provides comprehensive case data from multiple sources to facilitate informed decision making.
Additionally, intelligent automation and integration with third-party data sources speeds policy issuance, reducing manual errors and wait times.
The improvements are intended to increase customer satisfaction and attract new talent.
Additionally, the platform leverages AI to provide comprehensive policy analysis to improve business performance and meet service level agreements with insurance partners.
“By integrating Swiss Re solutions Magnum with Appian Connected Underwriting, insurers will experience an intelligent and comprehensive underwriting automation and workload management platform.
“Following a successful launch in North America last fall, we are excited to bring this life insurance solution to select countries in Asia Pacific and Europe this year, enabling even more clients who want innovative technology to benefit from improved efficiency and quality in their underwriting.”
Dylan Rowe, head of Global Life & Health Automation Solutions at Swiss Re, said:
“Insurance underwriters often have to juggle information scattered across email inboxes, outdated systems and lengthy documents. This is especially true for life insurance underwriters, for whom the administrative burden can significantly reduce their ability to assess risk accurately in a timely manner.
That’s why Appian has partnered with Swiss Re Reinsurance Solutions to introduce the Connected Underwriting Life Workbench, which improves operational efficiency and the underwriter and customer experience for life insurers.”
“Appian is committed to providing the highest level of customer service to our customers,” said Jacob Sloan, industry vice president, Global Insurance, Appian.
