A gala dinner charity ball hosted by the Emerging Leaders team at the De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel near Bristol has met its fundraising target for a brain tumor support charity.
Organizers, aged between 18 and 20, had hoped the event would raise £5,000, but in the end they raised £7,900.
“It was an honor to be a part of something truly special,” said Ethan Moore, the hotel’s restaurant floor manager, who helped the rising leaders plan the event.
More than 150 guests attended the event, which featured a three-course meal and entertainment including fireworks, live music, raffles and an auction.
Eight people currently taking part in the hotel’s Emerging Leaders Program were challenged to plan and host a charity event while keeping costs as low as possible to maximize benefit for their chosen charity.
The EL program, which runs across the De Vere Group of hotels, is an accelerated learning and development program that offers people a real opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in hospitality.

An in-depth 18-month EL program provides future hospitality leaders with exposure to all operational functions in large hotels, including reception, bar, conferences, and housekeeping.
At the end of the program, participants will have achieved Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship and have completed De Vere’s Inspire to Manage in-house training module.
