The Aviation Security Agency (DASA) announced that from Sunday, passengers will be allowed to carry liquids in handbags in containers of 100 milliliters or less on domestic flights.
As specified in the 5th edition of the National Civil Aviation Safety Program, there is no distinction in the measurement of prohibited items between foreign and domestic aircraft departing from domestic civil airports.
According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Defense on May 16, Articles 2.4 and 2.5 of Appendix IV of the 5th edition of the National Civil Aviation Security Program will come into force from Sunday.
Passengers can now carry liquids in their handbags.
- Liquid containers must not exceed 100ml
- Passengers can carry up to 10 100ml containers.
- Passengers can take as much baby food and medicine as they need
The ministry’s circular directed airport operators to share this information before issuing tickets to passengers traveling on domestic flights, make announcements in this regard at airports and install signs visible to passengers. .
The notification further states that the Air Command will enforce this without discrimination against any passenger.
The implementation of the new rules comes as several airports in Southeast Asia and Europe have begun lifting some safety rules for items such as liquids and laptops in airport baggage starting in 2024.
The government has set a deadline of June 2024 for most UK airports to install new high-tech 3D scanners that will show more detailed images of baggage.
The changes will increase the 100ml liquid limit to 2 liters, and passengers will no longer have to remove electronic items from their bags during security screening.
