Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) will host several journalists from Japan to visit the Maldives on a Famization (FAM) trip.
The Japanese journalist is currently in the Maldives from May 17 to May 24, 2024, staying at three properties: Huvafen Fushi, Mövenpick Resort Kredivuru, and LUX* South Ari Atoll.
Our writers are represented by renowned media platforms such as VOGUE Japan Online, CREA WEB, Numero Tokyo.jp and Mynavi Woman. MMPRC is excited to promote Maldives across multiple digital platforms, broadcasting it as a safe vacation destination and contributing to building great brand awareness in the Japanese market. Moreover, this FAM trip provides an excellent opportunity to promote our notable publications to our target audience and gives our readers a first-hand encounter with Maldives, its luxurious getaways and unique wellness retreat programs.
MMPRC will drive marketing strategies for the Japanese market with a focus on increasing destination awareness and introducing the various elements of tourism available in the Maldives to the Japanese travel industry and destination travelers. That’s what I’m aiming for. Through this famization trip, MMPRC targets young, wealthy people who are sensitive to trends and people who aspire to and have the ability to cultivate a high-quality lifestyle.
Earlier this year, Visit Maldives was awarded 3rd place in the “Best Area Overseas” category and 2nd place in the “Best First Overseas Travel Destination” at the “Marine Diving Awards 2023” voted by divers. All over Japan. MMPRC aims to maintain its destination presence and position the Maldives as a first-choice travel destination, as it has in the past few years. Japan currently ranks 13th in terms of market arrivals, with 9,333 arrivals as of April 2024 and a market share of 1.5%.
