of Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS)The Singapore-based payment services group has announced that it will distribute up to one million NETS Motoring Cards for free.
This initiative coincides with the city’s ongoing effort to install on-board units in vehicles across the city.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will distribute free cards to vehicle owners who install the new in-car units.
The NETS Motoring Card is a prepaid card compatible with the new in-car units that facilitates Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) payments and is the only card accepted at all car parks in Singapore.
Car parks that have not yet upgraded to a fully electronic parking system will allow you to use your card to enter and exit with a manual tap and hold.
Drivers can top up their NETS Motoring Card using the NETS app or manually at over 3,800 top-up machines, NETS Customer Service Centres, bank ATMs and convenience stores.
The NETS Auto Top-Up service is also available, which automatically tops up your card balance when it gets low, reducing the risk of running out of funds.
Additionally, drivers are encouraged to use vCashCard, a cardless ERP payment service, to ensure they don’t miss a payment when their NETS Motoring Card balance runs out.
Those who install their units before May 1, 2024 will receive their cards in the mail starting in mid-June. Those whose installation is completed between May 1 and June 30, 2024 will receive their cards in the mail within five weeks.
Cards will be distributed at installation locations for installations after July 1. Drivers can contact the LTA Call Assist Service on 6377 2255 if they have any queries.
