Mohamed Hasim was recognised for his dedicated contributions to the Maldives’ hospitality industry at a ceremony held at Kurumba Maldives on 25 April 2024. Hasim was one of three outstanding individuals who epitomise dedication and service among the recipients of the 2024 Hotelier Maldives Awards.

Over the years, Hashim’s reputation for excellence and natural leadership has propelled him through various roles, eventually leading to his current position as Resident Manager at Diamonds Thudufushi. He started working in the tourism industry at Vabbinfaru Island Resort in 1985 as a canteen waiter before moving on to become a room boy at Thulhagiri Island Resort. By December 1990, he moved to Diamonds Thudufushi in the same position, gradually progressing to Head Room Boy, Housekeeper and then Resident Manager by September 2004. His career has been an exciting one indeed.
His invaluable contributions have not only impacted Diamonds Thudufushi but also underscore his key role in the management of resorts in the Maldives under the Plan Hotels Hospitality Group.
