of Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) Discover Global Network expanded the agreement in 2022, expanding acceptance of Discover Global Network cards in the island nation.
This will enable Discover Global Network cardholders, which include Discover, Diners Club International and Network Alliance cards, to use their cards at more than 130,000 acceptance points across a range of sectors, including food and beverage, retail, convenience stores and supermarkets.
The partnership aims to expand payment options for cardholders and attract more customers to merchants in Singapore.
The move is part of Discover Global Network’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, where spending is expected to grow 34% in 2023.
“This partnership is a natural step forward as NETS continues to enhance its one-stop service offering for merchants. Our research confirms that merchants want to access a wide range of digital payment acceptance through a single payment provider.”
“NETS is grateful that by increasing the number of customers who want to pay our merchants with Discover, we can better achieve our purpose of connecting communities and empowering people’s lives.”
Lawrence Chan, Group CEO of NETS said:
“Our strategic partnership with NETS in Singapore will contribute to our rapid expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
“The region is seeing increased spending by consumers from around the world, and we want to enable those shoppers to pay how they want.”
