Reethi Beach Resort has announced impressive results at the 18th Annual Hotel Asia 2024 Exhibition & International Culinary Competition. This premier event in the Maldives hospitality sector took place at the Durbargay Exhibition Hall and Maldives National University (MNU) in Male on 13th, 14th and 15th May 2024. The event saw the participation of over 800 culinary professionals across 21 categories, representing over 300 local and international exhibitors from the food and hospitality industry.
Reethi Beach Resort chefs displayed their outstanding culinary talents, winning a total of 17 medals across various categories. Sisila Kumara won gold medals for both fruit and vegetable carving and artwork and was also awarded the title of best artist.
Anarul Sekh won silver medals in Hot Cooking – Beef and Hot Cooking – Lamb. Shishila Kumara also won a silver medal for her bread and pastry display. Rubin Star Dennis won silver medals in Hot Cooking – Lamb and Hot Cooking – Lobster. Meghna Dey won a silver medal in the Tea Challenge. Ahmed Areeb and Hassan Samir won silver medals each for Creative Table Decoration.
Bronze medals were awarded to Binara Madushan Jayasinghe TYG for ‘Hot Beef Dishes’ and ‘Hot Fish Fillets’, MATM Fernando for ‘Creative Salad’ and ‘Hot Lamb Dishes’, Mangala Madusanka Weerasinghe for ‘Desserts and Decorated Cakes’ and Madusha Priyadarshana for ‘Ice Mocktails’.

Reethi Beach Resort’s participation in Hotel Asia Culinary Exhibition 2024 follows a tradition of success: last year, the resort’s team competed in seven categories and brought home seven medals under the guidance of Executive Chef Farish Mukhtar at Hotel Asia Culinary Exhibition 2023.
