HSBC is Georges El Hederi He will take up the role of Group CEO on September 2, 2024.
El Hederi is HSBC He joined the bank in 2005 and has served as Group Chief Financial Officer since January 2023, having previously held senior roles including Co-CEO of Global Banking and Markets and CEO of the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey region.
He will continue in his role as CFO during the transition period and his successor will be announced at a later date.
The appointment follows a thorough succession selection process led by the Group Chairman and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Noel Quinn, current Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Board, said: Resign She decommissioned on 2 September to support El Hedery during the handover.
Quinn is serving his notice period, available to work until April 30, 2025.
