The excitement will continue on 23 July as the celebrations continue with an unforgettable Maldivian evening, when guests will savour a traditional feast served in the ‘Mara Whai’ style at Kakuni Restaurant, followed by a captivating Bodubelu performance.
On 25 July, Kakuni will be hosting an enchanting Maldivian Cooking Class led by talented Executive Chef, Chef Moosa Najee, where guests will learn the secrets of some of the Maldives’ most beloved dishes.
The week will culminate with a traditional flag-raising ceremony on the beach on Maldivian Independence Day, July 26. Guests can join in the national pride as the Maldivian national anthem rings out.
The celebration will conclude with a delightful Maldivian-inspired afternoon tea featuring local delicacies at Veli Bar, where guests will be enthralled by the rhythmic playing of the bodu belu as they savour the taste buds.
