Alby Hub integrates one-click Lightning nodes, self-managed Lightning wallets, and an app store that allows users to easily connect their Lightning wallets with other applications such as Damus, Stacker News, podcast apps, and external Lightning wallets to control their nodes.
Easy migration from Alby web wallet to Alby Hub is supported.
There is also an Alby Hub Cloud plan available that allows you to easily spin up an Alby Hub instance and run it on the Alby Cloud for 21,000 satoshis per month. This plan includes live channel management support, setup support, and access to the Alby Buzz community. Alby Hub is also available as a DIY tool that you can install on your own desktop or server. It can even run on a Raspberry Pi Zero.
Alby Hub was developed to remove the friction of running your own self-custody Lightning node. With custodial Lightning solutions currently dominating the space, Alby Hub’s goal is to make it as easy as possible for users to manage their own Lightning funds in a self-custody environment, making them truly sovereign Lightning users.
“Alby is a game changer,” said Michael Bumann, founder of Alby.
“At Alby, we have always focused on building tools and protocols for using the Lightning Network natively on the web, including the Alby Extension, which changed the way we use Lightning in web browsers. With Alby Hub, we are taking self-governance of the Lightning Network to the next level by rethinking the utility behind running a Lightning node. What would a node and wallet be like that could be integrated with any Bitcoin-enabled app with just a few clicks? With Alby Hub, users have unlimited possibilities for making self-sovereign payments on the web, without any technical overhead.”
