The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative with the launch of the MATATO Student Chapter, a dedicated platform that aims to uplift the minds of young people and equip them with the requisite skills to thrive in the travel and tourism industry.
The MATATO Student Chapter is open to students aged 16 and above enrolled in registered educational institutions in the Maldives, providing a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, network with industry professionals and contribute to the growth of the tourism sector.
The chapter’s main objectives are to foster leadership skills, enhance industry knowledge and create a platform for students to share their ideas and innovations. MATATO hopes that this initiative will serve as a stepping stone for aspiring professionals who will make a significant impact in the tourism industry.
With an initial focus on Male, MATATO has ambitious plans to expand its student chapters to other parts of the Maldives and build a country-wide network of young tourism enthusiasts. Additionally, the association aims to connect its Maldivian student chapters with the global network of PATA student chapters, providing students with an international platform and opportunities to collaborate and learn from their peers.
By joining the MATATO Student Chapter, students have the opportunity to contribute to sustainable tourism development, gain valuable insight into industry trends and build a solid foundation for their future careers.
MATATO’s student chapter is a testament to the association’s commitment to developing the next generation of tourism leaders and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Maldives’ tourism industry.
