UOB has announced major leadership changes, with Susan Hooi set to take over as group head of retail from 1 September 2024, succeeding Eddie Khoo.
Khoo will take up a new role as senior advisor to UOB Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Goh will take over from Hieu as head of group technology and operations (GTO).
Susan Huey is UOB Since 2001, he has over 35 years of experience in banking and technology.
Currently in his role as GTO head, Hwee is instrumental in transforming UOB’s digital and data architecture, integrating technology across the bank’s subsidiaries and driving digital platforms such as UOB TMRW.
In his new role as group retail head, Hwee will focus on strengthening UOB’s consumer banking services, expanding its digital capabilities and deepening customer relationships across the region.
Lawrence Goh, currently GTO’s chief operating officer and head of group infrastructure platform services, will take on the role of head of GTO.
Mr Goh has more than 30 years of IT experience and has played a key role in shaping UOB’s technology strategy, including establishing the bank’s Testing Centre of Excellence.
In his new role, Goh will continue to lead UOB’s technology innovation and operational efficiency.
Eddie Khoo, who joined UOB in 2005, has significantly expanded UOB’s retail banking business.
In his new role as Senior Advisor to UOB Vietnam, Khoo will support the bank’s strategy in this high-potential market and assist in the integration of Citigroup’s consumer banking business in the region.
With Citigroup’s consumer banking integration completed in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, UOB has made great progress in Vietnam, with plans to complete the integration by 2025.
