NatWest is interested in investing in technology it could potentially leverage in-house, such as payments solutions provider Icon Solutions. “That was the beginning of our discussions about investing,” Tom Kelleher, founder and commercial director of Icon Solutions, told Bank Automation News. London-based NatWest invested in Icon Payments Framework in September 2023, and is looking to acquire the bank.
