Jumeirah Olhakhali Island has announced the appointment of Joseph Alexander El Masri as its new Director of Sales and Marketing.
A native of the UK and a hospitality veteran, El Masri has extensive experience and a proven track record in the luxury hospitality sector. A veteran member of Jumeirah, El Masri has held key leadership positions within the brand since 2019. Recipient of the brand’s “Rising Star” award in both 2021 and 2022, El Masri honed his sales and marketing expertise as Associate Sales Director at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Sales Director at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, before taking on his largest executive role as Complex Sales Director at Madinat Jumeirah, where he was responsible for all international leisure markets across four premium five-star hotels, managing and implementing all international strategies for room revenue growth and leading his team to success.

He has a 12-year career in the hospitality industry, which includes roles with leading international brands such as JA Resorts & Hotels and Atlantis The Palm by Kerzner before joining the team at Jumeirah.
In his role, he will be responsible for expanding Jumeirah Olhahali Island’s contemporary 67 villa resort and leading a passionate sales and marketing team to further promote the premium beach and overwater accommodations, considered some of the largest entry-level villas in the Maldives and known for their spacious rooftop terraces with private infinity pools, the resort’s overwater spa, waterfront dining and more than 50 weekly activities ranging from PADI scuba diving courses to coral restoration workshops and culinary masterclasses.
