Kamala Harris, the cat-loving woman who won: Political families lose their luster Don’t form a group
Harris puts abortion, Trump’s weak spot, at the center of her campaign Wall Street Journal. This is infuriating. The women’s rights movement and its supposed ally, the Democratic Party, have done absolutely nothing to secure abortion rights. It would have been easier to secure abortion rights in the 1970s, when feminism was at its peak, before the religious right gained much influence. In most countries, abortion rights were achieved by law, not by court decisions. The Democrats are still just performative on this issue. There’s no way a Harris administration would pass any meaningful legislation. And yet this is why voters support Harris. Really? Is it because Harris is selling empty shells? I understand abortion being on the list because pro-abortion voters are upset about Republicans rolling back abortion rights, but why would the Democrats be at the top when they have nothing to offer?
