The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), with support from Hotel Jen Maldives Male (JEN Maldives Male by Shangri-La), has announced the inaugural Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition, to be held at Hotel Jen Male on August 19. The event aims to celebrate and highlight the vital role of women in the tourism sector.
MATATO is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, a vital collaboration aimed at empowering women in the tourism industry. MATATO representatives recently met with Deputy Minister Aisyah Simani and Minister of State Dr. Abdullah Niyaz to discuss and explore avenues of partnership to advance women’s participation and leadership in the tourism industry.
In addition to the support of the Ministry of Tourism, the conference has also garnered support from prominent women’s organisations such as the Women in Management (WIM), Women on Boards (WOB) and Women Entrepreneurs Association of Maldives (WEAM), reflecting widespread recognition of the importance of the event in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in the tourism industry.
Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition will bring together tourism leaders, policy makers and pioneering women in the tourism sector. The conference will feature inspiring talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities, aiming to foster a more inclusive and diverse industry.
