With China’s hedonistic Golden Week fast approaching, the team at The Standard, Fulvali Maldives is turning the island into a fun destination for a week from October 1 to 7. With a daily changing lineup of activities including sunrise yoga, social parties, lantern-making classes, canoe races and late-night karaoke sessions, there’s sure to be something to keep everyone entertained.
- Day 1: Wake up early and channel your inner Zen master with Hatha Yoga at the spa while the adults indulge in lantern making before joining their parents for a fun-filled social at Todis Beach. Get into the festive mood with delicious Chinese food at Kula’s sumptuous buffet and new friendships are forged as you enjoy a fire show on the beach.
- Day 2: After rolling glutinous rice balls under the guidance of a pastry chef, find inner peace with crystal healing, indulge in the day’s fresh catch at Kula’s seafood buffet, and end the day with ’90s karaoke at Bell Bar.
- Day 3: For the adults, there’s a hands-on massage masterclass at the spa, while the kids are busy making lucky symbols out of paper at the kids’ club. After indulging in Chinese cuisine at Guduguda, we screen the latest blockbuster movies under the stars at an outdoor cinema with Oscar-worthy beach views.
- Day 4: Kick off another day in paradise with sunrise yoga. The kids can get dirty making dumplings while the adults make tropical cocktails with fresh coconuts. As the sun goes down, BBQ Shak hosts a casual dinner with live music, followed by the Boduberu Bash, a traditional Maldivian drum dance around a beach bonfire.
- Day 5: Kids and adults who win the sandcastle contest will toast at The Standard Pool Party, while health-conscious guests will travel to Baby Island for private sunset yoga (US$55 per person). At dinner, Kula will take your taste buds on a world tour, and at Toddy’s Bar, the numbers will be rolling during an evening session of Not Your Standard Bingo.
- Day 6: After invigorating themselves with Aqua Zumba, guests can further spice things up with a standard pool party led by a resident DJ, plus enjoy a rice paper rolling masterclass, a colourful mud scrub, fusion American, Mexican and Japanese cuisine at Kula and a mesmerising LED show at Todis Beach.
- Day 7: It’s Monday, but everyone’s dancing like it’s Friday thanks to the Bachata Bash. Alternatively, vacationers can find balance with sound meditation at The Spa, watch a kids’ canoe race, enjoy grilled food at Kula, then end the day listening to groovy tunes at Bell Bar.
