Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Atul Buchar He is the new head of transaction banking products for Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Bucher will report to Shinichiro Yamazaki, head of Global Transaction Banking for the Asia Pacific region.
With over 27 years of experience in the banking industry, Bucher has held senior positions at DBS, HSBC and Citibank.
Before him Tenure at PalatiorHe served as head of product at the company and later moved to DBS as executive director of GTS and group head of payments.
Partior, a blockchain venture backed by Temasek, DBS, JP Morgan and Standard Chartered, is focused on financial innovation.
In his new role at SMBC, Bouchard will prioritize strengthening transaction banking services, particularly in cash management and trade finance, to help clients manage their working capital and strengthen their supply chains across various geographies.
His deep expertise in product development and customer-focused solutions is expected to play a key role in driving SMBC’s efforts in the Asia Pacific region.
Yamazaki acknowledged Bouchard’s wealth of experience, which he said will be an asset as the bank tackles the challenges of international markets.
