Electronic funds transfer network (net)teeth, Jeremy HsuDBS Singapore Managing Director and Group Head of Consumer Banking, has been appointed as the new Chairman, effective September 1, 2024.
Su will succeed Susan Hui, who has served as NETS chair since September 1, 2021.
Mr Hwee, who is currently UOB’s group head of technology and operations, will take up the role of UOB’s group head of retail from 1 September.
The chairmanship of NETS rotates between shareholder banks DBS, OCBC and UOB every three years.
Mr. Soo has more than 30 years of experience in consumer banking and finance.
At DBS, he leads the consumer banking business and oversees key consumer related products and services including network, distribution and digital and mobile channels.
Sue has played a key role in driving DBS’ digital transformation, leading a number of innovations and partnerships aimed at enhancing customer experience and promoting inclusive banking.
His initiatives such as the DBS/POSB Adopt a Hawker Centre Programme have led to increased adoption of digital payments across various community segments in Singapore.
