Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya) is stepping up its support for Thai companies expanding into ASEAN through new memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with MUFG and three partner banks – Indonesia’s Bank Danamon, Vietnam’s Vietinbank and the Philippines’ Security Bank.
The agreement aims to streamline business growth by providing coordinated support to Thai companies entering new regional markets.
The MoU was signed during the Krungsri ASEAN LINK Forum, an event aimed at providing insights into business opportunities in the region.
The forum showcased Krungsri Bank’s expertise in cross-border advisory services and highlighted the bank’s role in helping businesses expand, with a special focus on Vietnam as an emerging market.
Since its official launch in 2023, Krungsri ASEAN LINK has provided a wide range of support, from providing data and market analysis to assisting with business development, company and office establishment and joint ventures, and has successfully completed more than 500 cases.
This cooperation model will serve as a blueprint for partner banks, with the ASEAN LINK desk collaborating in different countries to help expand business, with Krungsri expecting transaction volumes to double next year.
Krungsri President and CEO Kenichi Yamato highlighted ASEAN’s economic potential, saying:
“ASEAN offers a vast economic and investment landscape, full of potential and sustainable growth.
Krungsri aims to seize this moment by leveraging our shared values and over a decade of experience and expertise to help our clients expand internationally.”
He also emphasised that connectivity is key to Krungsri ASEAN Link, bringing together the strongest business networks of Krungsri, MUFG and partner banks to create an ecosystem that supports and facilitates business for all.
