Depending on where you farm, you’ll either be celebrating the return of humidity (but where’s the warmth?) or cursing the daily rolling clouds.
Canada is a big country, so it’s never a good idea to generalize, but generally speaking, the moisture situation in the Prairies is much better this year than it was last year, and Ontario is getting so much rain that some areas are barely growing any crops.
However, in many areas, the return of spring moisture has not been enough to fully replenish soil reserves, and many farmers and ranchers have good reason not to call the drought over just yet.
In Ontario, many farmers have also harvested all of their crops and much of the land is in good condition, although there are some weeds.
So, on a five-point scale ranging from too wet to too dry, we want to know what the humidity situation is where you live.
