Soybeans have been one of the crops that have had outstanding harvests over the last decade.
While it’s the farmer’s job to manage their crops at the field level, part of Soy Canada’s job is to ensure that crops can move freely and on demand around the world.
Brian Innes is executive director of Soy Canada, which held its annual meeting and 10th anniversary celebration on June 19 at Saaski Farms near Dauphin, Manitoba.
He was joined by Sean Haney to discuss the conference and the opportunities and challenges facing Canada’s soybean industry.
- Weather effects;
- the potential for gene editing in soybeans;
- The importance of providing high protein beans;
- Canada’s position in the identity preservation market and meeting demand.
- Trade disruptions, and
- Inter-product issues.
