JOALI BEING will host tennis workshops from August 9 to 19, 2024, with German professional tennis player Mischa Zverev. This summer, young guests can take part in Ace Academy workshops, where they can learn to become a professional tennis player through classes at different levels, from tennis basics to exciting tennis matches. Zverev will also host tennis workshops for teenagers from the local community as part of the Alexander Zverev Foundation, which supports young people with diabetes.
Mischa Zverev achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of 25th in the world. At the 2017 Australian Open, Zverev defeated world number one Andy Murray in four sets. Zverev began playing tennis at the age of two under the guidance of his father Alexander, a former ATP pro, and his inspirational coach. Zverev is the older brother of Alexander Zverev, who rose to world number two in the ATP rankings. The two are the first brothers to reach the third round at the same Grand Slam tournament since Byron and Wayne Black at the 1998 Australian Open.
B’Kidult Summer Program – Ace Academy Tennis Camp
The B’Kidult Summer Program will launch on July 1, 2024, welcoming adventurers of all ages to embark on a journey of shared joy, discovery, and connection. Mischa Zverev will lead two sessions of the Ace Academy Camp in August. The first workshop will be on August 15, 2024, and the second on August 17, 2024. These workshops will focus on hand-eye coordination, footwork drills, and cardiovascular fitness. Under Zverev’s guidance, young players will start their tennis journey on the right track, developing fundamental life skills and a love of the game in a fun and supportive environment. Tennis workshops will not only build speed and agility, but also resilience and teamwork. Young players will learn to confidently dominate the court and share their progress with the whole family.
Community Happiness and Inspiration
Following the huge success of local community workshops with the Zverev brothers in 2022, JOALI BEING is excited to welcome Mischa Zverev back to further inspire teenagers from nearby local islands. “It is an incredible honour to return to the Island of Wellbeing where we have created moments of joy and inspiration together with our team, guests and the local community. I am excited to share my passion and inspire young people once again. JOALI BEING is truly my favourite place on earth,” said Zverev.
Multi-generational play and learning
JOALI BEING caters to travelers of all ages, offering a place where each person can embark on a journey of discovery, transformation and transcendence. B’Kidult takes full advantage of its secluded tropical island setting, weaving elements of nature into each space and activity to awaken the senses and foster a closer connection with the earth. From crystal clear waters and warm sunshine to soft sand and lush palm trees, nature’s sensory gifts set the stage for a memorable family journey that connects discovery, learning and wellness. JOALI BEING’s four pillars – Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy – are realized through experiential learning and active engagement. Mischa Zverev visits JOALI BEING with his family to experience a range of multi-generational activities that foster connection, from cooking classes, herbology workshops, yoga and sound baths to marine conservation, snorkeling adventures and transformational wellness.
Since JOALI BEING opened in late 2021, the wellbeing island has continually strived to support and inspire the local community. In November 2022, the Zverev brothers visited JOALI BEING as part of tennis star Alexander Zverev’s journey of recovery from a past injury. Together, they hosted tennis workshops for guests and children from the local neighboring island to support young people with diabetes. The Alexander Zverev Foundation was then established to help young people with diabetes not limit themselves because of their illness. The foundation specifically supports children with type 1 diabetes and aims to prevent type 2 diabetes by encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. At JOALI BEING, the Wellbeing Island philosophy of “the joy of weightlessness” resonated with Alexander Zverev at every level during his stay.
JOALI BEING villas are available from $2,700 per night for two people sharing an Ocean Pool Villa on a B&B basis, while the Wellbeing Programme is available from $1,693 per person for a five-night programme.
