Global hospitality and lifestyle conglomerate Minor International has acquired Kuda Rah Resort from Sri Lanka-based Amaya.
In August 2023, Amaya’s holding company, Haleys, put Kuda Rah up for sale.
The acquisition is in line with Minor International’s strategy to expand its presence in the Maldives, as the company plans to reopen the resort under the NH Hotels brand, marking the brand’s second resort in the Maldives market.
A 25-minute seaplane ride away, NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort offers 51 beach and overwater pool villas and suites. Relax poolside in your overwater villa, swim in the crystal clear lagoon, or enjoy a signature treatment at the spa. After exploring world-class dive sites, unwind with delicious food and chilled cocktails while gazing at the starry night sky.
The rebranding to NH Hotels will also include renovations to bring the properties up to the brand’s standards, and the acquisition reinforces Minor International’s commitment to expanding its presence in key leisure destinations around the world.
With this acquisition, Minor now operates seven resorts in the Maldives, including existing properties such as Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, Naladhu Private Island, NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort and Avani+Fares Maldives Resort.
