of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) will introduce two new leadership programs in 2025 aimed at developing financial leaders.
This was announced by Alvin Tan, Minister of State for International Trade and Industry, at the graduation ceremony of the Asian Financial Leaders Program (AFLP).
The first program will target senior executives at the managing director level and above, while the second will focus on high-potential mid-career professionals such as senior vice presidents and directors.
These efforts are Asian Financial Leader Schemewhich will cover 50% of the program costs for Singaporeans.
In addition, MAS will introduce a new group truck under its umbrella. International submission program (iPOST)aims to further support financial institutions in sending Singaporean leaders on overseas assignments.
MAS will proactively work with financial institutions to deploy more Singaporeans to these positions in the next one to two years.
In return, MAS will be more flexible regarding the listing period, extending financial support from two to three years.

More than 200 Singaporeans have benefited from iPOST since 2016, and the new course aims to further support leadership development through international exposure.
Mr. Tan said,
“In a recent survey conducted by MAS of financial institutions supported through iPOST, institutions reported that nearly 60% of international assignees had their seniority level increased at least once upon returning home. This suggests that overseas experience is a contributing factor to career advancement.
He emphasized the importance of strong financial leaders in navigating global uncertainties, particularly related to geopolitics, climate change, and technological advances.
Mr Tan highlighted Asia’s growing importance in the global financial landscape and encouraged graduates to leverage their skills in making impactful investments.
In his speech, Mr Tan encouraged graduates to join MAS’s Singapore Financial Leaders Network and the Singapore Leaders Network run by the Human Capital Leadership Institute to foster collaboration and professional growth. and encouraged experts.
