In feed production, tedders play a vital role by quickly converting freshly cut green forage into a baling-ready crop with consistent quality and moisture.
In this report AgritechnicaRealAgriculture’s Shaun Haney and Krone regional manager David Taylor take a closer look at the new Krone Vendro C 1120, the latest generation in the company’s range of towed rotary tedders.
Taylor points out that with its 10-basket tedder and 11.2-metre working width, the C 1120 is designed to deliver reliable operation, maximum power and excellent forage quality, even when paired with a small tractor. “That’s the great thing about our tedders,” he says. “We build and design them to run with relatively low-horsepower tractors, so for a tedder of this size, 75 horsepower is plenty, depending on the hitch.”
The C 1120 has a low centre of gravity thanks to the chassis running gear and folds compactly for road transport and space-saving parking. In terms of working travel speeds, Krone recommends operating the tedder at 6-7mph, but this versatile machine can be adapted to faster and slower speeds as well.
“Some jockeys want to do 12 races, others who want a little extra attention and a little extra time away from home will do four,” Taylor said. Check out the video below:
