Reethi Raa Resort Private Limited Ltd., owner of the luxury hotel One&Only Reethi Raa Maldives, has announced the appointment of Mr. Latha Sangelan as its new asset manager. Lhasa brings to this important role his family’s extensive experience with Kerzner International having worked at various One&Only resorts around the world.
Reporting to Managing Director Imran Ali (Issa), Rasa will focus on developing strategic business plans with both the Kerzner global team and the One&Only Retire management team. This collaborative approach maximizes business value by prioritizing the resort’s core values: brand, guests, products, location, colleagues and growth. Mr. Latha will also oversee the strategic repositioning of the resort through the application of sound asset management principles.
A highly qualified professional, Latha holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is a member of reputed chartered accountant bodies and chartered accountant bodies such as CIMA and ACCA. His career journey began in 2001 as a member of the Kerzner family at One & Only His Kanuhura in the Maldives. Over the years he has successfully juggled a variety of roles including FLL where he provided UK corporate finance and operational finance support. In particular, One&Only Cape Town and One&Only The Palm played a key role in his successful Dubai openings. Additionally, he has honed his expertise across his One & Only resorts in Mauritius, Mexico and the Bahamas. Upon returning to the Maldives in 2013, Lhasa led the resort’s finance team and ultimately assumed responsibility for managing financial assets. His dedication over the past decade has contributed to One&Only Reethi Rah’s continued success.
Lhasa’s passion goes far beyond financial expertise. He has a particular interest in exploring new culinary experiences and has actively cultivated his knowledge in design, project management, and food and beverage operations. This dedication and his passion for exploring new destinations and hotel brands has made him a well-rounded hotelier.
Rasa’s unwavering commitment to developing local talent and initiating impactful CSR projects has earned him the prestigious “Travel Personality of the Year 2017” award from the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) .
