Technology is making it easier for nutritionists and producers to manage feed for dairy cows.
Trouw Nutrition Canada’s DNA Connect is a new mobile app that allows feed managers to change dry matter levels and update feeds with the click of a button. In this report from the Canadian Dairy XPO in Stratford, Ontario, Erik DeVries, ruminant sales and nutrition advisor for Elgin Feeds, explores the app and shares how it can help improve ration management .
“This allows dietitians on the farm to push rations directly from their computer to the mobile phone in their pocket, helping to eliminate the need for email and extra communication,” DeVries said. say. “This allows you to adjust feed dry matter directly within the app, as well as monitor feed intake and record feed intake and rejection records. This could be key to improving efficiency on the farm. There is also.”
Producers can evaluate mixing accuracy by group. Manage and allocate rations to each feeding group (lactating cows, heifers, dry cows) and view reports to track feeding trends. See the report below.
